agirlfortheshow asked: Go stretches for a better straddle are simple splits. Try sitting in your best split for a while and then with out leaving the floor switch to your other split and hold it. After a few of those your hips should be nice and warm and you can practice holding your straddle for as long as you can as far down as you can. Long story short stretch everyday

improve your arch with tendus....

justcallie-deactivated20120320 asked: For Anon who wants to know about her arch, honestly a theraband is one of the best ways to improve your arch, they are cheap (about $6) I'm not sure why you don't want to use it. If its not working, try a more resilient band, with a heavier weight! They are the best!

I was told the most amazing thing today.

dance-help asked: a tip for foreveraballerina:

splits on the ground are very different from leaps in the air. When you go into a split, you have a floor to push into to really sink into a nice deep split. But in the AIR, there is nothing for you to push against or any kind of support. Gravity is pulling you down when, in fact, you want to go up!
So instead of just stretches on the ground, try...

flat feet? gaynor middens. For sure. One of my friends has such horrible flat feet… seriously, they look like an eggplant at the end of her leg… anyways, she used to be in Freeds which made her feet look OKAY but after buying a new pair and realizing they didn’t fit like the last ones, she made the switch to Gaynor Middens. She loves them because they make her feet look better...

Try Capezio Glisses. I have really wide feet, and they fit me well. You can order them in an extra hard shank.

followyour-hart asked: Hey, can anyone recommend some pointe shoes for me, I've tried bloch serenades but they weren't wide enough and they were the widest. My capezio comtemporas fit perfectly but I need a harder shank, and capezio doen't allow you to chose the shank. I also can't get fitted because I live in the Bahamas and there is no where to go for shoes.

Anonymous asked: for the anon with wide feet
i have wide ball of my foot and a small heel and i wear european balences and they work so weel they also help because i dont have a good arch... Also my big toes have always hurt in pointe shoes and i never know why i think it may just be the bone structure of certain peoples feet

thecarelesswhisper asked: to the anon about pointe shoes for big and wide feet.
I'm a shoe size 9.5 and have wide feet as well.
I use Bloch B Morphs.
I love them. They have a little extra gell pad in the bottom, but it doesn't help as much as you'd think. But the box is wider and fits my foot much better than any other shoe i've tried.

Anonymous asked: 'Better extension/ how to achieve a split in a gran jete?'

Make sure you split easily on the floor! Practice by doing a develope kick as you grand jete, and do a step-ball-change run up to jump as high as you can so there is time to split in the air
