rxk asked: So to answer Hopeisthere's question, as well as your own,
to get a higher arabesque on either leg really depends on the persons hip mobility and how flexible the front muscles (quads, hip flexors) are. Even with they have that, its not enough, and thats were back strength and core come in.
Also most dancers have this problem, but whichever leg you prefer, or is more flexible,...

I'm a dancer as well, I have a question regarding arabesque's...I have a really nice arabesque line with my right leg, but my left, somedays I can barely get it up to 90 degrees, it's not as nicely turned out either. I can do the splits on both sides, I just wanted to know if there's any other stretch I could try that would help loosen my left...

bennedetto asked: First off, I adore your blog! Thank you for working so hard on it.
Second, do you have any tips on how to improve strength/flexibility for penches? Like in your display picture?

Anonymous asked: Hello! :) Love your blog, it's beautiful.
This may be a stupid question, but I'm really new to ballet, so I'm not so good.. anyway, do you have any tips on how to improve my pliée, like, you know, go deeper? And to do 'higher' grand battement(?), I mean, any exercises/stretching?

ayshunkick asked: oh and I'm sorry, one more question. Do you have any advice on improving arches? I don't have the worst arch ever, but it's not very good so I sometimes have trouble with getting on my pointe shoes. I do have an exercise band, but I lost the instructions.
ayshunkick asked: Oh geez. First glance, and I absolutely fell in love with your blog :) Just wondering, do you have any tips on gaining leg extension flexibility? Like your background picture, I've been stretching and stretching but nothing really helps. If not, thanks anyways!

frequentlyrare asked: i'm curious as to why, even though your title is 'dancer's blog', pretty much everything i've seen of what you've posted is ballet?
@ retrograndma
I love Diana’s variation from Diana and Acteon! However I have to disagree with you about extension; it does make up a big portion of the variation and good extension does contribute to the overall look, but there’s more to what makes this variation beautiful than just getting your leg up next to your ear :)
Anonymous asked: Why don't you upload pictures of yourself dancing?
abeatingheart asked: I perform tomorrow!!!!!!! I'm so excited!
Just thought I'd share pre-stage excitement! XD

Anonymous asked: why you don't post pictures of contemporary dancers?
it would be nice to see more than just ballet

Sorry about that one random Inception post… it’s already deleted but I meant to put it on my other blog (http://whydyoumessupthecarpet.tumblr.com/).
