Bolshoi Ballet's Sleeping Beauty
So I know David Hallberg and Svetlana Zakharova’s Sleeping Beauty at the Bolshoi last night was a pretty big deal and don’t get me wrong they’re an amazing couple.
But I saw a clip of the 2nd act pas de deux (Aurora is a figment) which is my favorite pas de deux ever and it was just kind of disappointing. To start off with Svetlana isn’t the best Aurora (but that’s...

Question from: ghett0weave
What would you recommend to be an adequate workout regimen for dancers? I’m a very serious dancer - I dance about 20+ hours a week at school and after school. This sounds like so much time dancing that I wouldn’t need to workout but truly this is mostly cardio and never any conditioning. Submitted: An Anonymous Dancer.
I am a dancer, I love dance too. It’s like it just comes to me out of no where while I’m listening to a song. Then I just do what I think of and there you have it! A brand new dance routine! Dancing is not a habit; its a passion, a need.

Am I too old/Is it too late to start learning ballet?
It is never too late to start ballet. If you’re healthy enough for moderate exercise, why wouldn’t you be able to dance?
Note: If you’re too intimidated to dance with younger people when you first start out, most studios have at least once teen/adult beginner class. Just ask!
Is it too late for me to become a professional...

Anonymous asked: I know everyone asks if it's too late to start ballet or go en pointe but I'm 21, I did ballet til I was 15, quit then came back to it this year. I'm not the smallest person by any means but I know I could hold my own on pointe, I have to thank 16 years of ta dancing for that one. What I wanted to ask was should I go up en pointe next year? Is there much point in doing it or should...
